BACKGROUND

Refined Systems may be known for their fast-paced automation of commercial and residential smart technology, but at their core, their brand is rooted in the basics of exceptional service. Forgotten arts like active listening. Attention to detail. A personal touch. And they
wanted a visual identity that accurately represented their approach to business. That’s where Hierarchy got to work, creating brand elements that told their authentic story.

THE ASSIGNMENT

Our client was aware that their existing branding was disconnected from the experience of actually working with them. In short, it was too tech-forward, leaving an impersonal first impression.Meanwhile, Refined Systems had become synonymous with modern, high-end solutions. To better represent their brand’s current direction, we joined forces to rebrand their identity.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Because their smart technologies span both the residential and commercial sectors, our audience was two-pronged. On the residential side, we aimed to reach men and women ages 35-60 with a household income of $150k+. For commercial clients, our target was businesses valued at $1+ million annually.

STRATEGY

True to their name, Refined Systems delivers a premium product, centered around the goal of making your home or business more streamlined. It only made sense for their branding to do the same, capturing the sleek, polished experience of working with them. Our initial research showed that based on the existing branding, consumers failed to understand what their business offered in the way of services or products. By simplifying their color scheme and overall look, we knew we’d position them as industry leaders in sophisticated smart solutions for residential and commercial clients.

To build strong connections to their new branding, we overhauled their entire collateral package including business cards, brochures, pop-up banners, letterhead, stationery and signage. We even assisted with elements of interior design to bring their identity full circle. Equipped with new materials, Refined Systems ensured that their quality look and feel extended to every aspect of their brand.

No matter the project, we always strive to meet our audience where they already are. For Refined Systems, that meant a strategic approach to print, identifying publications that resonate strongly among our target demographics. Then, we used impressive imagery and benefit-forward messaging to quickly and confidently convey their unique selling points.

Direct Mail

When you’re reaching out to residents and businesses who are barraged with direct mail on a regular basis, it can be challenging to cut through the literal clutter. By securing a highlytailored mailing list, we were able to lean into smart design and messaging to generate leads among our target audience.

REFINED SYSTEMS by the Numbers

Our Radianse Task-Scheduling App campaign delivered remarkable results with an audience upwards of 106 million via the press release, which led to spotlights in 140 media outlets. Radianse went on to be featured in leading industry publications like AiThority and The Industrial IoT Daily, as well as major news outlets including Yahoo! Finance, MarketWatch, Seeking Alpha and more.

 

The email campaign displayed impressive numbers, including up to an 18% open rate. One particular recipient was such a fan, he returned to the email over 20 times. On social media, Radianse enjoyed their strongest months ever – including an organic
engagement rate that surged over 10% at times, especially when their native content articles were shared. Throughout the campaign, we converted more than 2,000 visitors over 2,300+ sessions. On the Radianse website, the pages used as CTAs for email and social media remain their most visited. Since the campaign’s conclusion, users and sessions fell 38%.

 

Today, just a few short months later, more than 400 team members across 32 gyms rely on the Radianse Task-Scheduling App to smartly, safely and easily maintain cleaning standards at their gyms.

OUR NEXT STEP

Our next collaborative project with Refined Systems will be to extend their visual identity to their digital presence – starting with a stunning website that aligns with the experience they deliver.
